TESTIMONIALS

Emily, 16

Friends Seminary

NYC

Adam Arian tutored my daughter for three years- primarily in Math and Science but he also helped her very substantially with her English and History assignments.

It goes without saying that Adam is extremely smart.  But more important than that, Adam is great with kids and is a truly gifted teacher.  He is what I would describe as a natural teacher.  He never loses his cool and he is unfailingly nurturing and encouraging and good-humored.  He has a great sense of humor and it comes in very handy when dealing with teenagers.  He seems to understand the adolescent psyche.  Believe me, my daughter is not easy to teach and Adam succeeded with her way beyond my expectations.  He managed to keep the sessions light and stress-free and yet accomplish a huge amount of learning and also, very often really inspire Emily.

I would hire him every day if I could.  He is probably the best thing that has happened to my daughter educationally.  (And she goes to a great school with great teachers - Friends Seminary, in New York)

I don’t normally gush so much, but it is an invaluable thing to find the right match for your kid for one-on-one teaching and learning and I guess I found the right match with Adam,

Adam is a gem. He worked with my my high school son and daughter on various areas including SAT tutoring in both Math and English and helped with writing a lengthy history paper. He is very patient, can work with students of all levels and is never condescending despite being very bright. He made learning fun and motivated my children to be focused and work harder. I highly recommend him!

Anna Maria, 16

Nightingale Bamford

NYC

Adam was our older daughter's "standardized tests" tutor. His was the name that immediately popped up when I asked (several) teachers at her school (Nightingale-Bamford) for someone who seems laid back enough to connect with my teen but also substantially rigorous to actually help her (essentially someone who can "trick" her into wanting to learn something she felt was "stupid and boring"). He succeeded phenomenally - her scores went up by nearly 400 points. She's now a second year student at Oberlin College - and it's hard to imagine her getting there without Adam's help.

It's pretty alarming when your 7 year old is expressing boredom and "hatred" for their schoolwork.  How can anything be boring when you're 7??   In our case, Skye was developing an aversion for math and subsequently, wouldn't apply herself.  We were referred to an unbelievable tutor who, in his first session,  re-established a joy in learning. She loves the sessions and they're working well-ahead of the class curriculum.

Adam is an exceptional tutor. He worked with my son on Algebra II. While they shared a mutual interest in theatre, Adam was talented in making thoughtful connections. He often approached problems in alternative ways to assure a clear understanding of the material. He was also helpful in organizational issues with problem solving and homework in general. Adam is smart and talented and well suited for this challenging field of working with kids with varying abilities and allowing them to succeed.
